Summary

Manchester City Council is recruiting to a vacancy within our Mpeople Team.

Mpeople is the Council’s current approach to redeployment, facilitating the effective movement of colleagues to alternative roles within the organisation.

As well as managing a caseload of redeployees, you will support the service as it continues through a period of transformation.

With a positive, strengths-based approach, the HR Officer’s duties will include:
- Relationship management of Redeployees, Managers, and wider stakeholders.
- Supporting Redeployees to identify potential roles, submit applications and prepare for interviews.
- Facilitating regular review meetings to reflect on progress and address concerns.
- Sometimes holding difficult conversations.
- Regular and accurate recording and reporting.

The service’s transformation aims to increase personal support for redeployees including application of reasonable adjustments in relation to disability and ensuring organisational aims are upheld by making effective role matches within an agreed timeframe.

The successful candidate will:
- Be an excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms.
- Have the ability to advocate for employees and to provide constructive challenge when necessary.
- Have the confidence and determination to ensure employees are supported and are given every opportunity to move to, and thrive within, an alternative position.
- Have strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and a broad caseload.

You will be joining a small, dedicated team who are specifically focused on redeployment. Previous experience of internal recruitment or career coaching would be beneficial as well as sound knowledge of recruitment practice and associated employment law.
