Summary
A warm, informal household in Walton-on-Thames is seeking a part-time housekeeper / family-style cook to join them permanently. This daily housekeeping role in Surrey is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and brings a calm, discreet presence to the home.
The property is a spacious 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom home with a pool, tennis court, and large garden. While the family consists of two adults (with adult children and grandchildren who do not live at home), the house is well-maintained and benefits from the services of a gardener and a pool contractor.
Key Responsibilities
Daily housekeeping duties, including:
• Cleaning and organising the home to a high standard
• Laundry, ironing, and bed changes
• Light cooking and preparing simple meals or following recipes
• Feeding and cleaning up after two easy-going cats
• Occasional errands or supplies restocking
• Ensuring the home runs smoothly
• Working quietly and efficiently in an open-plan setting
Requirements
• Proven experience as a professional housekeeper cook in a private home
• Confident, proactive, and capable of managing a home independently
• Able to cook light, simple meals and follow recipes when required
• Pet-friendly and happy to assist with feeding and caring for cats
• Fluent English speaker
• Driver with own car
• Strong attention to detail with a discreet and respectful manner
• Comfortable working around principals
• Right to work in the UK
