We have and exciting full time permanent opportunity for a Technical Support team member within our waste services operational team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of waste collection activities across the Falkirk Council area.

You must have experience in a technical support role and have a full knowledge and understanding of waste collection and recycling services e.g. waste collection (domestic and trade), waste disposal and recycling processes, contamination, policies, street cleansing and other related environmental topics and environmental concerns.

You require a practical experience of implementing and improving recycling and waste collection across the service. The need to be an effective communicator, both written and oral, with a good understanding of web- based software and computer systems e.g. Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, Outlook, Teams, My Falkirk, Case viewer, Workflow & Routeware (Webaspx)

You will be part of strategic project and service development projects and require team working experience. You must have the ability to be mobile throughout the Council area. You will need to be able to adopt to flexible working practices with occasional evening and weekend events.

You will be assisting the service and the officer team in the collection of refuse from all domestic and trade customers across the area. Your duties will include: The monitoring and control of the daily duties associated with Waste Services (encompassing recycling, waste, litter, street cleansing) and by doing so support those actions necessary to provide a high-quality service.

The post normally operates from the Dalgrain Depot Grangemouth FK3 8EB.

The normal working week is Monday – Friday 37 hours per week.

(Technical support will cover bank holidays as we deliver a statutory frontline service on bank holidays).
