Summary

Early Years Assessor

ROLE DESCRIPTION

You will assess the performance of Early Years students in a variety of settings, including Nurseries and Primary Schools. You will give accurate, informed, developmental feedback to the students linked to the EYFS. You will work with both 16-18 and adult (inc. HE) students, liaise with Early Years Lecturers and report to the Early Years Lead Assessor. You will also support with other Curriculum duties, supporting students to progress within their industry placements, as well as some administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessing student performance in different settings

Giving constructive feedback to students

Identifying the best possible placements for students and preparing the students for this work experience.

Maintaining positive relationships with external stakeholders

Communicating clearly with students and liaising with Lecturers/Curriculum Leader

What we're looking for

You'll need:

  • A relevant subject specific qualification, Level 3 (or above) Early Years/Childcare/Education qualification including licence to practice.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • TAQA or equivalent Assessing qualification is desirable.
  • Substantial professional experience of working with children.
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
