The Governors of our fully inclusive, successful and welcoming school seek to appoint a Caretaker to commence as soon as possible. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable caretaker to join our staff team.

Duties will include:

Ensure the smooth running of the school site and building
Be highly motivated and have good problem-solving skills
Have a good awareness of health and safety, security and hygiene issues
Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the premises, including fixtures and fittings and furniture
Undertake inspections to ensure necessary safe operation and that the legislative requirements are met
Carry out any cleaning duties that may be required both in school and on the school grounds.
Enjoy working as part of a team, be adaptable and supportive of colleagues.
Have excellent organisation and communication skills
Any other duties as the Head Teacher may reasonably request from time to time.
The main role as a caretaker at Delves Lane Primary is to contribute to the provision of a high-quality learning environment by carrying out the full range of caretaking duties to provide high standards of cleanliness, security and maintenance of the school premises and grounds. The caretaker will need good DIY skills for general maintenance and some repairs to the buildings and grounds, e.g., basic plumbing, carpentry, etc.

The successful candidate will be physically fit and active.

Annual leave must be taken in school holidays.

The usual working hours will be:

Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm (with 30-minute lunch)

Friday 8am to 3.30pm (with 30-minute lunch)

School holiday hours are:

Monday to Thursday 8.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. (with 30-minute lunch)

Friday 8am to 3.30pm (with 30-minute lunch)
