Summary

HR Advisor

Basis: Part Time, Permanent, Job Share, Term Time Only

Grade: Band 5 SCP (19-24) £31,067 - £34,314 (FTE)

Actual Salary: £10,862.95 - £11,998.31 (pay award pending effective 1 April 25) Plus 23.6% Local Government Pension

Hours: 15 hours per week, Thursday-Friday, TTO (additional hours may be required to meet the requirements of the role) Hybrid working at Derby central office, CMAT schools and home. Can be fully home-based during school holidays.

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity in a values-driven organisation? We are seeking a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join our friendly and supportive central team at St Ralph Sherwin Multi Academy Trust, working two days per week (Thursday and Friday) as part of a job share.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our growing Multi Academy Trust, providing HR advice and support across our family of schools. The role covers a broad range of employee relations and operational HR matters, including absence management, disciplinary and grievance cases, recruitment, and policy implementation. You’ll be a key point of contact for school leaders and managers, offering sound advice that supports our people and upholds our values.

The post offers flexibility, with the option to work term time only, making it ideal for those seeking a better work-life balance while still making a meaningful impact.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience in a generalist HR role

• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice

• A collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• The ability to manage a varied workload and build effective working relationships
