You will work closely in a small, dynamic team and will be responsible for the end-to-end contract management and continuous improvement of Digital and Data contracts across the entire commercial lifecycle—from pre-procurement planning and market engagement, through procurement in collaboration with the Digital Services & Technology Commercial team, to contract management, performance improvement, benefit realisation, and contract exit.

You will manage several contracts, ensuring risks are mitigated, value is maximised, and business objectives are met. Key responsibilities include maintaining strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance against KPIs, SLAs, and legal requirements, and ensuring value for money through regular reviews. The role also involves managing disputes, acting as an escalation point for supplier issues, and ensuring DVSA meets its obligations. Additionally, you will support stakeholders with contract management best practices, align supplier services with DVSA’s strategy, and assess how evolving business goals impact contract delivery.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Managing the mobilisation, onboarding and implementation of contracts with Suppliers
  • Managing the strategic relationship with suppliers, including chairing regular contract management relationship meetings
  • Reduction and management of commercial risk
  • Ensuring that effective contingency and business continuity plans are in place and reviewed to ensure required contribution to DVSA Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
  • Effective monitoring of contractual performance to deliver enduring thru-life value-for-money solutions for DVSA and to provide the basis for continually improving the service. Working with suppliers to put in place effective solutions to improve performance where appropriate, escalating when necessary
  • Supporting team engagement with suppliers when commercial aspects might be affected
  • Maintenance of contractual delivery through a high level of interaction with other areas of the business and with stakeholders/customers

Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
