Summary


The Position involves working with a demanding client group of personality disordered offenders. Therefore you will be given the opportunity and expected to attend regular participation in staff support, reflective practice and individual supervision.

You must be able to physically respond efficiently and confidently to a crisis ie be able to assist in the delivery of first aid, or employ de-escalation techniques which you will have completed training during your induction to the trust

You will work under the direct and indirect supervision and guidance of the nursing and Psychology team to implement care with a group of offenders with a diagnosis of Personality Disorder, maintaining their dignity, privacy and choice, treating them with respect at all times.

The senior Psychosocial Therapist support worker role is sitting in the middle by given support to nurses by working as a security nurses, responding to emergencies within the unit on a rotational basis, facilitating enhance observation, escorting patients either for hospital appointments or section 17 leave. The Senior Psychosocial Therapist Support worker will also support Psychologist by facilitating groups, therapeutic 1:1, mentoring patients and support in the completion of HCR-20.

• Your Detailed duties during a shift may involve working as a security nurse or as a response person for the ward in the even of a crisis from the other wards
• You will escort service users on section 17 leave or on hospital appointment or to group activities. therapies
• You will be part of a team assessing service users mental and physical health promptly, reporting observations to the nurse in charge and provide care in accordance with individual service users care plans.
• Dynamic risk assessment and feedback your observations to the multi disciplinary team
• When required, you will have the opportunity to contribute to psychological interventions under the supervision of a registered professional
• You will be expected to take part in a regular monthly supervision and appraisal, and contribute to the wellbeing of the team by supporting other team members and treating all colleagues with dignity and respect
• You will as part of a team in a professional manner, respecting the boundaries of the relationship with service users, carers and staff, exchanging appropriate information with service users, carers and other team members on a regular basis maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
• You will undertake any other reasonable duties as directed and are responsible for using supplies and equipment cost effectively and monitoring stock levels on a day to day basis
