Due to Company growth and demands, we have an exciting opportunity for self-motivated Production Operatives to join our busy Processing and Profile Departments at our Canterbury Site
You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, averaging 38.5 hours per week on a shift of 4 on Days, 4 days off and in return you will receive a competitive salary - and the opportunity for regular overtime
You can expect to work as part of a great team with opportunities for training
Production Operative: Objectives and responsibilities
To support our high performing production team aiding the manufacture and assembly of steel products, maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity. (*Full training on plant/machinery will be provided by our in-house Training team)
Production Operative: Main Duties
• Carry out all aspects of the manufacturing end to end process
• Process customer orders to specification using a selection of CNC based machines, saws, drills, laser, tube laser and plasma machines
• To use overhead cranes and site plant (namely forklift and side loader*full training provided)
• To time manage the material presented to the machine to ensure that workflows through each stage of the production processes in the most efficient manner
• To fully complete material quality checks
• Work with hand and power tools
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and productivity
• To ensure machinery is operated in line with published Safe Systems of work (SSOW), Risk Assessments (RA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in a continuous improvement environment
• To ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout the Production work areas and machinery on a daily basis
• To uphold our Company values, Performance, Culture, Quality and People

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• With a minimum of 1 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment
• Good level of education GCSE Grade C or above, in English and Mathematics
• Strong manual dexterity and practical skills
• Professional experience in using power tools – desirable not essential
• Willingness to learn and follow safety and productivity standards
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent attention to detail
