Working Hours:
0830 - 1700 Monday to Friday

Qualifications:
Completion of an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in the Vehicle Maintenance & Repair field. (Essential)

Skills:
- At least 3 years mechanical experience in a fast paced environment. (Essential)
- Positive attitude, punctual and flexibility (Desirable)
- Clear Driving License (Desirable)
- MOT Tester qualified/experienced (Desirable)
- Prioritising workload (Desirable)
- Excellent teamwork ethic (Desirable)

Work Environment:
You will be working in a garage environment and the job will require physical stamina, as you will often lift parts and work in various positions.
A good level of health and fitness would be great.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety - Health & Safety is paramount you should always consider yourself, team members and the environment. Highlight, report and solve any safety concerns at the earliest opportunity.

Diagnosing Issues - You will be competent at using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical problems on vehicles. This may involve visual inspections or actually using computerised diagnostic devices.

Performing Repairs - Once issues are identified, you will repair or replace faulty parts and systems. This includes working on engines, transmission, brakes, and some electrical systems.

Routine Maintenance - Vehicle mechanics conduct regular maintenance tasks such as vehicle servicing, oil changes, punctures, tyre changes, brake services, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition.

Customer Communication - You will be a clear communicator as you will often communicate with vehicle owners to discuss concerns, explain repairs, and provide advice on maintenance procedures and occasionally speak on the phone to suppliers and customers.

Keeping Records - Maintaining accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory is essential. Helping to track the history of the vehicle.

Staying Updated - You must be willing to under go some training in technologies and repair techniques in the automotive industry. This may involve attending further training sessions or obtaining certifications.
