Summary

Job Vacancy

We are looking for energetic, adaptable, creative and resourceful practitioners to join our team at Cherry Road Centre.

You will need to have experience and skills in supporting adults with Learning Disabilities both 1:1 and in working with small teams in multiple settings.

We support people who have complex support needs including health care needs and your role will be to maximise their potential to achieve positive and meaningful life experiences. Developing individualised and outcome focused support which supports and facilitates positive relationships and inclusion.

This post requires that you have experience in report writing, in providing detailed outcome focused records as well as competent computer skills.

You must be motivated to develop your knowledge and practical skills and maintain your Continued Professional Development related to your role.

KNOWLEDGE

The Jobholder should be educated to at least SVQ II/III in Social Care or a related subject and/or working towards SVQ3 or equivalent in line with SSSC registration. They need to be able to work without direct supervision and have a mature and self-reliant approach with the ability to respond to unplanned situations in a calm and flexible manner.

Working Pattern: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 09:15 – 16:30.

Tuesday 08:45 – 16:30.

Friday 08:15 – 14:45.

Weeks per year: 52

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £31,445.76 per annum.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with Adults.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Adults, You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
