Business Development Manager
Remote Position
£50,000 Basic salary and up to £50,000 paid in quarterly bonus (Genuine OTE - £100k) plus car allowance
We're looking for a Business Development Manager to fuel the growth of our UK operations. In this vital commercial role, you'll utilise your technical expertise and client engagement skills to uncover and cultivate new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will be commercially driven and possess a background in technical sales, IT services, electronics, or managed life cycle solutions.
Leverage your expertise to provide consultative sales support, recommending a comprehensive suite of services (ITAD, data destruction, reverse logistics, battery recycling, secure chain-of-custody) to deliver optimal solutions for prospective clients.
A strong passion for sustainability, the circular economy, or green technology is highly desirable.
Hours of work:
- This is a Remote role where the only expectation is to be at head office once per month for a sales team meeting.
- You can be based anywhere in the UK
- 40 hours per week - Flexible on the hours that you work in the day as long as 40 hours is achieved (for example 9am to 5pm, 9.30am to 5.30pm, 10am to 6pm- can be fully flexible)
Duties of a Business Development Manager
- Proactively engage with prospective clients to thoroughly understand their IT asset management, decommissioning, and compliance requirements.
- Drive new business growth by actively identifying and rigorously qualifying opportunities generated through outbound prospecting efforts, inbound lead management, and cultivation of industry network connections.
- This role involves engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including IT managers, procurement leads, facilities teams, and sustainability professionals.
- Develop and deliver compelling proposals, RFP responses, and commercial quotes, underpinned by a strong technical understanding of the proposed solutions.
- Take ownership of the client handover process to service delivery, guaranteeing that all technical requirements are accurately understood and comprehensively documented.
- Work in tandem with operations, compliance, and client solutions teams to jointly scope technical service delivery and formulate viable, efficient solutions for clients.
- Attending face to face meetings - presentations and sales opportunities in the UK - ideally targeting global companies
Experience required for the Business Development Manager role
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or solution consulting, with preference given to candidates with experience in IT services, hardware, electronics, managed services, or recycling.
- Proven understanding of IT infrastructure, life cycle management, and compliance requirements, with the ability to apply this knowledge to client solutions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the latest developments in ITAD, circular IT, battery recycling, and sustainability frameworks to effectively support client needs and drive business growth.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a sales pipeline, prioritise tasks, and drive deals to successful completion.
- Strong skills in RFP analysis, proposal development, and leading technical client presentations and discussions.
- Successfully worked with global companies will be a distinct advantage
Detail of a Business Development Manager
- Permanent Position - Remote working - you can be based anywhere in the UK as long as you can attend a sales team meeting in person in the Midlands area
- £50,000 basic (depending on experience) - with an opportunity to ear £50,000 in commission (paid quarterly)
