Our client Scottish Power Renewables are seeking an Interface Manager for a long-term contract opportunity either based in London or Glasgow.
Main Purpose of the Job
Working during the execution phase of the East Anglia TWO project, the Interface Manager role is to ensure coordination and communication between various stakeholders and contracts to minimise risk to the execution of the windfarm construction process. Responsible for managing interfaces at terminal points where working packages intersect, the Interface Manager oversees the identification, resolution, and tracking of interfaces to mitigate risks and optimise project performance.
Key Tasks
Interface Coordination:
Identify and define interfaces between interdependent physical components within the project, including those involving internal and external parties.
Coordinate activities at terminal points where working packages or contracts meet to ensure smooth integration and alignment of scopes.
Scope Management:
Ensure coordination between different contracts to prevent scope gaps and overlaps.
Monitor contract boundaries to identify and resolve potential conflicts or duplications in work activities.
Interdisciplinary Information Exchange:
Facilitate interdisciplinary information exchange to identify potential internal interfaces between working packages.
Collaborate with project teams to address interface issues and develop resolution strategies.
Procedure Development:
Develop and implement interface management procedures tailored to the multi-contract strategy and multidisciplinary technical packages involved in the offshore wind project.
Provide guidance on interface identification, definition, and responsibility assignment.
Risk Reduction:
Minimize scope gaps and duplication of work between contracts to reduce project risks.
Mitigate the risk of mismatched equipment or services that could result in offshore works or program delays.
Delivery Optimisation:
Ensure timely delivery of components to the right specifications and quantities at the designated locations.
Optimize project costs through efficient interface management and coordination.
Key Criteria
Degree qualified within a relevant Engineering discipline, with greater than five years’ experience working in a relevant engineering sector.

Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and Membership of an appropriate professional institution, or equivalent experience.

Demonstratable previous experience in interface manager, engineering management or project engineering roles.
•
Competent on MS Office, Electronic Document Management Systems and able to review design drawings in CAD software.

Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, to collaborate effectively with the wider project team including Third Parties, Contractors, Subcontractors and Contractors. The selected person will be part of a multidisciplinary and multicultural team, distributed across various locations in the UK (mainly London and Glasgow) and Europe.

Availability and flexibility to attend face-to-face meetings in SPR offices in London (mainly, various per month expected). Suitability to travel occasionally to meetings and site visits within the UK (Glasgow and East Anglia mainly) and Europe.

Experience in Engineering Design roles, preferably on large multi-disciplinary infrastructure/ energy projects. Design Management experience will be positively assessed.

Previous experience working on execution phase offshore windfarm projects, ideally within the role of Interface Manager.
•
Knowledge of The Construction (Design and Management) Redulation 2015, and knowledge of UK’s Health and Safety Legislation in general.
