The focus of the role will be to support the trust to demonstrate improving compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). You will be required to develop, deliver and support all staff throughout the trust at all levels to build their confidence and competence with using and implementing the MCA. This role will help to ensure patients with complex vulnerabilities due to capacity issues are protected from harm, received the correct support and have appropriate adjustments made to ensure their journey is individualised safe and therapeutic. You will be a source of advice in relation to MCA matters, Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS) and act as a point of contact when the Trust is involved in any Court of Protection cases. You will be working with the Acute Hospital and Community Hospitals including Childrens Services in the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You will be working closely with clinicians and managers at all levels providing remote and face to face training and devising other resources to ensure that the Trust is supported to meet the challenges of the MCA and its applications; in a variety of clinical and complex situations. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date.
