Summary
The Junior Clinical Fellows principal clinical responsibility is to assist in the investigation and treatment of in-patients admitted to the service. They will be expected to attend consultant ward rounds with the consultant of the day. These are structured formal ward rounds where the clinical fellow will be expected to present cases, and discuss the differential diagnosis and management. They will have access to the in house teaching programme, and will be taught how to carry out appropriate practical skills, and may be expected to perform these with supervision on patients admitted to the ward. The post holder is responsible for maintaining a full clinical record of patients admitted to the ward. They will be required to produce a written summary of the admission at the time of discharge; They will participate in audit data collection, and attend clinical governance / audit meetings. The appointee will be expected to dictate out-patient letters from patients or patients seen in clinic. Jointly manage with the other junior clinical fellows and trainees in the department of patients admitted to the allocated wards and clinical areas of responsibility. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
