The Bedfordshire and Luton Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) is a countywide specialist eating disorders team which is part of ELFT CAMHS. The service consists of a group of highly experienced and motivated professionals who work closely as a team and with partnership agencies to provide a very well respected service to children, young people and their families. It is led by a Senior Management team, consisting of Associate Clinical Director/Consultant Psychiatrist, General Manager, Psychological Therapies and Clinical Team Leads.
The post holder will be required;
• To support and enhance the professional psychological care of service users within the Directorate, across all aspects of care; providing psychological assessment and psychological
interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, working independently
according to a plan agreed with a qualified clinical psychologist and within the overall
framework of the teams’ policies and procedures.
• To assist in clinically related administration, teaching and project work.
• To take part in research; to collect, input and analyse routine data and to report this to clinical
teams, managers and others; to liaise with clinical teams across the directorate.
The Assistant Psychologist will be an integral member of the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Eating Disorders Service in the East London NHS Foundation Trust. Although some clinic-based services are provided from the key bases at Rush Court Bedford, and 67 High Street North Dunstable, the work is also undertaken in an outreach-based service, offering support in a variety of community settings such as schools, respite units, the family home and child development centres. There will be opportunity to support our exciting new pilot service, Eating Disorder Intensive Day and Virtual Service also.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
Bedfordshire and Luton CEDS CAMHS is a Tier 3 community service linked to the Luton and Bedfordshire CAMHS comprising Emotional and Behavioural teams and specialist targeted teams: Adolescent Mental Health Team, Neuro-Developmental Team, Targeted Team and county wide Eating Disorders Team which offer services to children and adolescents with a wide range of psychiatric and mental health difficulties, working closely with their families and carers. CAMHS considers referrals of children and adolescents aged 0–18 years.
