Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/ Psychological Therapist
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated clinical/ counselling psychologist or psychological therapist to join our team supporting people with complex emotional needs and complex trauma presentations.
The post is suitable for someone with enthusiasm and experience in working with people with multiple needs in a compassionate, trauma-informed and collaborative way. The role requires a good grounding in psychological theory and formulation, but also a flexible and creative approach to psychological interventions in community settings. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with the development of new pathways of care for people with complex needs and the successful candidate will benefit from trauma-informed supervision and skills development in complex trauma interventions.
We aim to develop and deliver our services through co-production with people with lived experience. We would expect you to be fully committed to partnership working and co-production.
The successful candidate will be closely linked with the wider Adult Mental Health Psychology services and the local Primary Care Networks under whose governance they will experience continuing professional development.
• Support the implementation of the model of care for people with CEN as outlined in the community mental health framework and by providing ‘in-reach’ psychological services to the local NMHTs and across different teams and community services
• Offer psychological assessment, formulation and co-produce and implement appropriate care, treatment interventions and crisis contingency plans for people with CEN and complex trauma presentations
• Deliver trauma-informed and integrated group interventions in partnership with non-psychology mental health professionals and community partners.
• Liaise with colleagues and other professionals to contribute to the establishment of continuity of care across services with particular focus on facilitating the integration of interventions across the local health and social care setting, including statutory and voluntary, and physical and mental health sectors.
• Provide trauma-informed consultation to the broader staff team within NMHTs on the management of cases presenting with complex trauma and attachment-related issues.
• To manage a caseload of clients, in close collaboration with professionals guidelines and the overall framework of the NMHT policies and procedures
• To contribute to, and where requested, hold delegated responsibility for maintaining and developing the operational management structure in the service, compliant with Trust Policies and Key performance indicators.
