Description: A 9-year-old cheeky, mischievous, loving boy is looking for a Personal Assistant. He has the most wonderful sparkly eyes who knows exactly how to win people over. He requires somebody who will be patient and get to know his ways of communication. Some activities are more favourable than others, such as playing ball and sensory play, water is a firm favourite. Being unable to stand for long, means that there needs to be activities that will keep him entertained and engaged. Being unable to use words, he likes to sign, mum is always happy to help new PAs understand his signs and what they mean to him.
Wage: £12.21 per hour
Hours: 4 hours per week – Used flexibly over the 4 weeks
Duties will include:
Personal care including:
Support with washing, dressing, and pad changing
Assistance with feeding
Going out into the community to do activities
Playing with the ball/ sensory play
Car rides with lovely scenery
Walks in his wheelchair/stroller to see animals
Applicants must be:
Caring, patient, and respectful
Reliable and consistent with good communication skills
Comfortable with all aspects of personal care
Willing to be trained and attend training
Willing to take the time to get to know this little boy and understand his communication needs.
Full, clean driving licence with access to a vehicle is preferred
Initiative
Experience with children with sensory needs is preferred
Experience with children with disabilities is preferred
All successful applicants will undergo references and an enhanced criminal records bureau check. The successful candidate will need to undergo these checks before commencing in the role.
