The role:
We’re recruiting passionate Residential Workers to support children and young people in care across local residential homes. You’ll play a key role in helping them feel safe, supported and empowered to thrive. This hands-on role includes daily care, behaviour support, safeguarding, medication, and contributing to care planning.
You must have experience working with vulnerable children (preferably with disabilities), and be confident in areas such as autism, safeguarding, epilepsy, first aid, and manual handling. Candidates should be flexible, empathetic, and committed to building strong, stable relationships with young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high standards of emotional and physical care
Contribute to care plans and risk assessments
Administer medication (with training)
Promote positive behaviour and safeguarding
Build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals
What the client is looking for:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (or working towards it)
Experience supporting children with disabilities or complex needs
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management
Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Full driving licence and use of vehicle
Requires an Enhanced DBS
