An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Criminal Investigator to support high-profile investigations within a central government department. Working in a fast-paced and sensitive environment, you’ll play a vital role in delivering robust, evidence-led outcomes that support national safety and public confidence.



Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate and carry out investigations alongside senior investigative officers.
Assist in the preparation of High Court search warrant applications and conduct on-site operations using formal powers.
Ensure full compliance with legal and procedural obligations throughout the investigative process.
Analyse and evaluate gathered evidence, presenting findings to team leads and recommending next steps.
Draft accurate and appropriate documentation in support of legal proceedings.
Prepare comprehensive court packs and case files.
Provide mentoring and support to new recruits, particularly those on the Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF).



Required Experience:

Experience in progressing evidential cases and conducting all relevant lines of enquiry.
Effective collaboration with intelligence officers and analysts.
Sound understanding of disclosure responsibilities.
Previous involvement in coaching or mentoring investigative colleagues.



Essential Criteria:

PIP2 accreditation (Professionalising Investigation Programme Level 2) or equivalent through grandfather rights.
SC Clearance (must be in place prior to engagement).
