Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Yard Operatives/Forklift Driver in East Kilbride!
The Best Connection is thrilled to introduce an opportunity for hardworking General Yard Operatives to join our client on a Temp to Perm basis.
Purpose of the role:
As a Yard Operative/Forklift Driver you will be responsible for the efficiency and safe operation of the yard, including receiving/dispatching goods, maintaining the plant and equipment and providing general labour support to the team.
Your Role:
- Operate a Counterbalance Forklift.
- Responsible for loading/unloading of plant.
- Check orders are correct before dispatch to customers.
- Ensure plant is stored/stacked correctly and safely.
- Complete and record equipment checks/inspections.
- Record both inward/outward stock movements daily.
- Inspect equipment fore any damage in accordance with quality control standards.
- Prepare, maintain and clean equipment, using a pressure washer when required.
- Work collaboratively with all other business function to ensure smooth running operation of the yard.
What We Expect From You:
- Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment.
- Counterbalance Forklift - current valid licence essential.
- UK Driving licence - clean and current valid licence essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Physically able to lift and manoeuvre heavy objects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
Working Hours:
- Monday - Friday (7am - 5pm)
Benefits & Requirements:
- Hourly rate as above (not age dependent)
- 28 days Paid Annual Leave pro-rata for PAYE (inclusive of statutory holiday)
