Summary

About UsCathedral Schools Trust (CST) is a family of schools committed to inspiring learning both in and beyond the classroom. With a strong focus on music and the creative arts, we support every student and staff member in reaching their full potential. If you’re looking for a Trust that values creativity, growth, and meaningful learning, CST could be the perfect place for you. We invite you to join our team at Bristol Cathedral Choir School. We exist to provide a world-class education for the children of Bristol – so that they leave with a deep understanding of the world around them. The school is a highly oversubscribed state cathedral choir school with a rich history and a Christian ethos. It is a music school, educating choristers for Bristol Cathedral for the past 880 years and offers an enhanced and rich musical experience for all. The school provides a traditional academic curriculum to its students, regardless of their background or ability, and emphasises the teaching of ‘Powerful Knowledge’. The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join a talented and highly committed operations team at the beginning of a period of significant change at the school – moving the school from delivering good educational provision to something that is genuinely world class. The role will start as soon as possible.. The school site is complex and there is lots going on – including plenty of estates and caretaking activity, and increased numbers of external lettings. The successful candidates will work closely as part of an Estates Team, directed by the Site Manager on daily tasks, but with a portfolio of ‘owned’ responsibilities. The exact responsibilities from week to week will depend on the shift pattern of the team (see below). The postholder for the later shift will be responsible for lettings as well as late shift caretaking duties and site lock-up.Candidates should indicate in their application statement their preferred shift pattern. About You This role requires someone who has a positive disposition, who has attention to detail, who is a rule follower and who is a team player. You will likely be someone who completes work with calm efficiency, who enjoys problem solving and is organised and methodical. More information about the Role To find out more about this role, please read the job description and person specification. We can offer you… Continuing Professional and Leadership development; Employee assistance programme, offering counselling, support and advice on a wide array of areas; Discounted gym membership, Cycle-to-work scheme, Eyesight test vouchers; Flexible working fully supported and enhanced family friendly policies; and All new staff are automatically enrolled in the Teacher’s Pension or LGPS Avon Pension Fund. How to apply … We are committed to creating an inclusive working environment. If you are excited about this role and can demonstrate many but not all of the requirements on the job description and/or person specification, we would encourage you to apply as you may just be the person we are looking for. Please complete our application form by Sunday 10th August 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview day shortly thereafter. All candidates will be advised of the outcome of their application following the closing date.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts at Cathedral Schools Trust are subject to pre-employment checks incl, but not limited to, initial and periodic enhanced level checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service. Applications are welcome from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or religious belief, sex or sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability or age, and maternity, marital or civil partner status. We particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups. The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of the interview process.
