About this opportunity
At Lloyds Banking Group, we have a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper and to become the best financial services provider for our customers. Through our brands, our Group has a relationship with just about every household and community in the UK. We underpin the lives of millions of individuals and businesses and play a key role in helping to build a growing UK economy.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Communications Business Partner to join us in the Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) Business Partnering team. Insurance, Pensions & Investments is the growth engine of Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) and includes the Scottish Widows brand, our General Insurance business and Investments teams.
Our small, energetic and creative team deliver compelling internal and external communications and campaigns, focused on financial empowerment and supporting the business to help customers secure their tomorrow.
We work closely with in-house and external media, public affairs, digital and internal communications specialists to ensure content is delivered effectively. And we continually think differently and challenge ourselves, to ensure communications are efficient and evolving.
This role will partner with key areas and departments which are critical to driving that growth, providing guidance on internal and external communications activity.
The ideal candidate will have a passion and energy for finding and sharing stories, eagerly follow the news and current affairs agenda and be a trusted communications adviser.
Day to day you'll
-
Develop innovative, modern and insight led communication strategies to support business unit priorities and key themes, delivering at pace and within budget.
-
Work with the wider GCA team and our external agencies on signature brand campaigns, strategic projects and issues.
-
Build a detailed understanding of business key priorities, products and services so you can provide intuitive and insightful counsel and develop engaging content across a range of channels.
-
Lead integrated transformation and change communication plans.
-
Grow your own capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities. And you'll recommend ways to improve support for the team, by changing policies, processes, standards and practices.
We're a small team with a broad remit, so there's plenty of room for stretch and development. Our focus areas include external and media relations to develop LBG's / Scottish Widow's reputation as an industry leader, as well as internal communications campaigns to support culture and people plans.
About us
We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you.
What you'll need
-
Be a communications professional with both media relations and internal experience - financial services experience will also be beneficial.
-
Confident at developing and delivering impactful communications strategies thanks to your abilities to bring the right people together. Ability to apply effective digital and AI tools and build relationships.
-
Inquisitive, creative and bold, whilst also able to use your experience and judgement to make informed decisions to enhance and protect LBG's reputation with the media and political stakeholders, and have a positive impact on colleague engagement and customer advocacy.
-
A track record of business partnering and providing forward-thinking partner management within an internal communications and/or media role.
-
We'll also be looking for you to demonstrate your passion for communications, with a proactive and can-do approach. You're willing to test, learn and experiment with innovative ideas!
