Summary

The Members' Business Support team provides information, advice and guidance to 60 Members of the Senedd (‘Members’), which will increase to 96 following the Senedd election in May 2026, and the party groups at the Senedd. The team provides advice on all aspects of the Remuneration Board’s Determination, including financial support available to Members and on a broad range of generalist HR matters, such as operational and recruitment support for Members in their capacity as employers and under the framework of the Determination. The team is responsible for approving, paying and publishing all claims drawn against Member budgets.

As a Members’ Business Advice Manager, you will play a key role in developing the
services of the Members’ Business Support team. In addition you will support the Head of Members’ Business Support to ensure that Members have access to excellent operational support in order for them to utilise their time most effectively.

Operating within the Board’s Determination on salaries and allowances, you must have a strong focus on customer service excellence and the provision of flexible, and appropriate, solutions to assist Members in the delivery of their responsibilities. You will also be required to provide advice directly to Members on extremely sensitive matters. In doing so, you will need maintain the trust of all Members whilst never shying away from difficult conversations and decisions.

This is a challenging yet exciting role in which you will work closely with Senedd
Members and their staff, the Head of MBS, senior leaders within the Senedd
Commission as well as the Independent Remuneration Board of the Senedd and its
Secretariat.
