Randstad Education is proud to partner with a specialist School in Horley in the search for a driven and inspiring SENCO. This permanent position offers a chance to lead a dedicated team and embed inclusive practice across the School.
This is a Full-time and a Permanent position starting in September.
About the School
The School is a specialist provision for students with additional and complex needs, including SEMH, Autism, and ADHD. The setting is designed to foster security, trust, and growth through small class sizes, structured routines, and exceptional pastoral care. Every student receives tailored support that nurtures academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and life skills development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the strategic development of the School's SEN provision
- Design and monitor effective EHCPs and individualised learning pathways
- Work collaboratively with Teachers to implement inclusive classroom practices
- Mentor and train SEN support staff to deliver high-impact interventions
- Act as the key contact for families, carers, and external professionals
- Track student progress and initiate timely, data-informed interventions
- Embed the School's inclusive vision across policies, planning, and practice
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - mandatory
- Experience in a SENCO or equivalent leadership role in SEN or mainstream education
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
- A confident communicator and collaborative leader
- Deep understanding of neurodiversity, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
