Summary
Description / Details of the Role:
I am looking for an engaging, responsible, positive Support Worker/PA to help my 15-year-old son to expand his social opportunities and engage more within his community. He is a funny and lovely boy with complex needs, ADHD, ODD, and Type 1 diabetes (full training will be given). You will need to learn to recognise his non-verbal cues to understand him fully and be kind and patient to give him the best opportunity to develop independence and a have a fulfilling life.
He enjoys playing sports, especially skateboarding and swimming; he also enjoys spending time drawing and being creative. You will need to be vigilant when out and about as he has no road safety understanding. This role will require an enhanced DBS check (provided) and a UK driving licence.
Previous experience and understanding of working with SEN children would be ideal. A knowledge of diffusion and de-escalation techniques would be beneficial but not essential.
Paid holiday entitlement of 20 days plus bank holidays (pro rata). An enhanced DBS is required (provided) and access to a car, clean driving licence, appropriate insurance and willingness to use your car to take him out. Work related mileage will be paid in addition to wages.
Days and times to be discussed, these will include weekends.
