Summary
To carry out maintenance works as directed by the Building Technician in a competent and efficient manner. Typical duties include grass cutting, pruning, litter collection, drain clearance, leaf sweeping, winter path gritting and all aspects of building work including emergency patch road repairs. To assist Building Craftspersons in carrying out construction, renewal and repair work as directed. To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment. To be aware of the performance and limitations of various tools and machines used and to exercise care and safety in their operation. To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner following the appropriate risk assessment at all times. Subject to an individuals availability, work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management. To attend training courses as required to maintain the ability to undertake the role. Provide training, technical advice and support to new Maintenance Assistants. Uses all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works. Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade.
