The role
The successful individual will design, implement and support business-critical Operational Technology telecoms systems necessary to monitor and control the plant and safety systems used in the SSE Distribution Control Centre.
You will
- Producing standards, specifications and target architectures.
- Making custom tools to aid in the design & delivery of those standards & architectures.
- Take business requirements or objectives and make these into practical telecoms deliverables.
- Provide SME guidance on all aspects of telecoms infrastructure including radio, fibre, SDH & data networks.
You have
- Strong knowledge and experience of the operation and design of data networks;
- Proven experience of planning and deploying data networks:
- Have demonstrable planning and implementation knowledge of data network technologies including IP, ethernet and wireless;
- Have an understanding of telecommunication infrastructure technologies including fibreoptic cabling, SDH/PDH multiplexers, microwave radio and ancillary equipment (space and power);
- Have an understanding of SCADA networks and the application of data networking within these.
