Summary

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career in finance? Ipswich Borough Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Accounts Payable team as a Payments Assistant whilst we look to move to a new financial system.

As a Payments Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the Council pays its suppliers in an accurate and timely manner. This role primarily supports the day-to-day operational running of the Accounts Payable System and the Procurement Card system.

We expect the successful candidate to hold a minimum of 4 GCSE’s including Maths and English as well as having proven experience within an accountancy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of the Accounts Payable email inbox (electronic invoices)
Registering of supplier invoices and ensuring correct authorisation prior to payment.
Administering the Procurement Card System.
Ensuring all CIS suppliers are verified and set up correctly.

Hours of work are 37hrs per week, Monday to Friday.

This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 1 days per week working in the office).
