Summary


Do you have previous pharmacy experience and ready for a supervisory role? Would you like a challenging job that really makes a difference?

If this interests you, then we would like to hear from you. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to support our Technicians in our friendly Technical Services Unit.

To be successful in your application you will have NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills and BTEC level 2 Extended Certificate in Pharmacy Services or GPhC approved equivalent (or be willing to work towards this qualification).

You should also have GCSE English Language and Mathematics to a minimum of Grade C / 4 (or equivalent).

Previous experience within a Pharmacy is essential.

The post involves preparing a variety of different types of medicines aseptically for patients in a controlled manufacturing environment and also pre-packing of medicines in the Orsett pre-pack Unit.

You will need to be able to work accurately, efficiently and follow procedures at all times.

Cleaning of the area is an essential part of the role.

Supervising pharmacy assistants on a daily basis

Providing support to the Technicians.

Due to the critical nature of our work, you will have to meet the highest standards of discipline, personal hygiene and attention to detail.

Carry out all work following standard operating procedures.

Maintain competency in compounding, assembly, labelling and accuracy checking aseptic /over labelled and repack products.

The compounding of all preparations dispensed within aseptic services.

Prepare and calculate worksheets, transcribing patient information and doses from Chemocare.

Assist with the training of pharmacy assistants and other less experienced staff.
