CSE / School of GeoSciences
Part-time: 28 hours per week
Open-ended (permanent)
The Opportunity:
The post-holder will provide critical specialist technical support and expertise to School of GeoSciences. including electronic instrumentation equipment design, fabrication and maintenance.
The post is involved in fieldwork and other activities within a school associated with both research and teaching. Experience with mechanical fabrication or laboratory work would also be hugely beneficial.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Substantial experience in design, fabrication and repair of electronic and electro-mechanical instruments and devices.
Confidence to work independently using good judgement and problem-solving skills to resolve issues within your remit.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience liaising with customers from design to completion of projects.
Comprehensive awareness of Health and Safety issues and practices associated with public buildings
IT skills (e.g. MSOffice suite, Autocad/Inventor/Fusion/Solidworks, coding languages).
