Summary
Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for an experienced Residential Care Operations Manager to work across 2 Children’s Residential Homes in Burton upon Trent.
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee two children’s residential homes – one supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and the other specialising in Learning Disabilities (LD). This is a vital leadership role focused on ensuring high-quality care, driving service development, and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and child-centred environment across both settings. You will provide strong operational oversight, support home managers, and ensure that each child receives personalised, consistent, and therapeutic care tailored to their individual needs.
Salary: £53,000 per annum plus bonus structure
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
Duties of the Operations Manager:
Manage and support Registered Managers to ensure the smooth running of both homes and maintain a high standard of care for young people
Ensure both homes meet Ofsted standards and all relevant legislation, conducting regular audits and implementing improvement plans where needed
Oversee safeguarding practices, ensure robust risk management, and respond to incidents in line with policy
Lead recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of staff
Ensure rotas and staffing levels meet children’s needs
Manage budgets for both homes, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective operation
Build relationships with local authorities, social workers, and external agencies
Attend key meetings such as LAC reviews and planning sessions
Drive continuous improvement, support strategic growth, and promote a positive, child-focused culture across both homes
In order to be considered for the role of Operations Manager:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Safeguarding and management training
Experience within a Children’s Residential setting
Full UK Driving License
