OverviewA leading multidisciplinary building services consultancy is seeking an experienced and ambitious Associate Director - Electrical to lead the growth of its new
Manchester office. With over 320 staff across 11 UK offices, and international teams in India and Poland, the business is expanding its regional footprint to meet growing demand in the Northwest.This is a unique opportunity for a senior electrical engineer to take ownership of a new office, shape its culture, and play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the wider business.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver electrical design projects across sectors including healthcare, higher education, life sciences, shared services, leisure, and residential
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, including junior and senior staff
  • Oversee project delivery, client relationships, and commercial performance
  • Collaborate with other regional offices and disciplines
  • Drive business development in the North West, leveraging strong existing demand
  • Contribute to strategic decisions and operational leadership
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative office culture

Candidate Profile

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent)
  • Chartered or working towards CEng status
  • Proven experience in leading electrical design projects
  • Strong leadership, client-facing, and commercial skills
  • Passion for mentoring and developing engineers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to shape and grow a regional office
