Summary

We are currently recruiting experienced and safety-conscious Welder's Assistants with a valid Welder's Assistant Sentinel competency to support ongoing Network Rail infrastructure works across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside qualified Thermic Welders on critical rail projects, gain valuable experience, and grow within the rail sector.

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid Welder's Assistant Sentinel competency
  • In-date PTS (Personal Track Safety)
  • Small Tools
  • Prior experience assisting welders or working in a rail environment
  • Good knowledge of safety standards and on-track procedures
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Thermic Welders with site setup, alignment, and general duties
  • Safely handle welding tools, materials, and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work area
  • Support with packing down and transporting materials post-weld
  • Follow Network Rail safety and quality procedures at all times
  • Work effectively as part of a rail welding team
