Summary

The Unicorn Preservation Society is seeking part-time Visitor Experience Assistants to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of visitor engagement at HMS Unicorn.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and Heritage & Learning Manager, you will be responsible for providing a welcoming, informative, and memorable experience for all visitors to HMS Unicorn. Key responsibilities include acting as the primary point of welcome for visitors, delivering guided tours, staffing the museum shop, operating the front desk (including monitoring alarm systems and handling cash), ensuring public areas are clean and safe, and supporting museum events.

This role requires excellent customer service skills, cash handling experience, strong communication abilities, and the physical capability to work on a historic ship with ladderways and varying access levels. Experience in heritage or museum settings is desirable but not essential.

As HMS Unicorn undergoes its transformative Project Safe Haven development, this is an exciting opportunity to join our team during a pivotal moment in the ship's 200-year history, helping to preserve this irreplaceable maritime treasure while creating world-class visitor experiences.

This is a part-time position (25 hours per week) with weekend and some evening work required. The role offers 34 days annual leave (pro rata) and pays £12.60 per hour.

More information on the role, and how to apply, can be found at https://www.hmsunicorn.org.uk/news-and-events-post/visitor-experience-assistant/
