This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Medicine & Urgent Care Division at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust where you will be responsible for the management, performance and oversight of the Specialist Medicine directorate.
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functional management of the Specialist Medicine directorate across the Epsom and St Helier Hospital sites. The postholder is to support the Divisional Director of Operations (DDO) on both an operational and strategic basis, delivering service improvement, integration, project implementation and will be expected to have a working knowledge of all services within the Directorate, the associated performance metrics and key issues that are affecting the Directorate.
The post holder is expected to function as part of the senior management team for Medicine Division and will participate on the Trust’s Senior Management on call rota as well as deputising for the DDO for Medicine.

The key focus of this post will ensure:
• Delivery of operational and quality, performance, and finance standards
• Optimisation of the patient pathway, ensuring that patients are streamed to the most appropriate pathway for their care needs
• Identification and development of new pathways of care in conjunction with clinical leads
• Development of strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to further enhance the patient pathway
• Supporting both sites to ensure optimal staffing levels are reached, particularly in relation to medical staffing
