Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, particularly in assisted living and senior care environments. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, including assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and task focused activities supporting service users to stay in their own homes.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to clients, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation to enhance their quality of life.
Assist with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure client safety.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
Skills
Proven experience in patient care, preferably within a senior care or assisted living setting.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and client needs.
A valid driving licence is essential to commute between service users home.
