Are you a proactive and skilled maintenance professional looking for a rewarding role in a calm and supportive environment? We are currently seeking a
General Maintenance Operative to join a dedicated facilities team at a respected healthcare organisation in Leeds.
About the Role:This is a mobile position where you'll be responsible for attending to both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site. A van is provided for on-site use only, allowing you to respond efficiently to maintenance requests as they arise.
The environment is slow-paced and non-commercial, ideal for someone who values quality workmanship and takes pride in maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out general building maintenance including basic plumbing, joinery, and decorating
- Responding to reactive maintenance jobs across the site using the provided van
- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Supporting compliance with health and safety standards
- Assisting with minor electrical repairs and installations (if qualified)
- Liaising with contractors and external service providers
- Keeping accurate records of work completed and materials used
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a general maintenance or facilities role
- Electrical bias or experience
is highly desirable (e.g., lighting, PAT testing, minor installations) - A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence (for on-site van use)
