Summary

EC&I Construction Manager

Location: Berkshire
Rate: £65.00 per hour (Outside IR35)
Hours: Up to 50 per week (including weekend work on a rota)
Contract Duration: ASAP start - 5 month contract
Security Clearance: Must hold a British passport and be eligible for SC clearance

Overview

Carbon60 is recruiting for an experienced EC&I Construction Manager to support a major infrastructure programme at AWE. This is a high-impact role within a secure and highly regulated environment, ideal for a professional with strong leadership, safety, and delivery experience in complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in delivering the programme on time and within scope
  • Lead with a strong safety-first approach, ensuring all EHS&Q standards are met
  • Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring accurate and timely updates
  • Build and manage high-performing teams to maintain productivity
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve blockers, and drive continuous improvement
  • Assess programme viability and allocate resources effectively
  • Ensure commercial controls are in place and compliant with client procedures
  • Manage subcontractor performance and commercial arrangements
Requirements
  • Proven experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, defence, energy)
  • HNC/HND in a relevant discipline (preferably Electrical)
  • Project Management qualification (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle
  • Solid knowledge of NEC contract management
  • Must be eligible for SC clearance and hold a British passport
