Summary

HR Business Partner (12-Month FTC) - North Manchester

Salary: £44,000 to £48,000

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and driven HR Business Partner to join our People Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a pivotal role supporting leaders and teams across the organisation to build an inclusive, values-led culture people team.

You'll play a key part in delivering our People Plan, partnering with managers on complex employee relations issues, leading on change initiatives, and mentoring a team of People Advisors. This is an exciting opportunity to influence, drive improvement, and support a cultural transformation.

As HR Business Partner, you'll help shape and embed a progressive, inclusive culture. You'll ensure our HR function delivers efficient, customer-focused services and supports managers in delivering high-quality outcomes for colleagues and the wider organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality HR advice across a range of areas, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, TUPE, and redundancy.
  • Coaching and guiding managers on employee relations, organisational policies, and people-related decision-making.
  • Leading and developing People Advisors, fostering continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Driving the implementation of our People Plan and contributing to wider organisational transformation projects.
  • Using HR data and analytics to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
  • Supporting organisational design, restructures, job evaluation, and workforce planning.
  • Promoting flexible working, innovation, and smarter working practices.
  • Championing equality, diversity, and inclusion in everything you do.

Skills and Experience HR Business Partner

We're seeking someone who is CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience) with a strong generalist HR background and significant experience advising managers on complex employee relations matters.

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Proven experience in a busy HRBP/People Partner role
  • Strong understanding of employment law and best practice
  • The ability to analyse HR data and use insights to drive improvement
  • Experience working in a unionised environment
  • A values-driven approach aligned with inclusivity, accountability, and continuous learning
