Summary

Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School - Croydon

We are working with a large and inclusive secondary school in Croydon to appoint a Behaviour Mentor for the start of the new academic year.
The school has a well-established behaviour support system and a strong pastoral network. With clear expectations and a structured approach, the school works proactively to identify and support students who may be struggling with emotional regulation, attendance or behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a lasting impact by helping students overcome barriers and stay engaged with learning.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with behavioural and SEMH needs
* Support students in lessons and during unstructured times such as break and lunch
* Work closely with Heads of Year and the pastoral team to implement behaviour strategies
* Monitor student progress, provide feedback and contribute to review meetings
* Support restorative conversations and behaviour reintegration following incidents

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working in behaviour support, youth work or secondary education
* A calm, firm and positive approach to behaviour management
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful student relationships
* Knowledge of safeguarding and SEMH support strategies
* A background in PRUs, mentoring, or inclusion teams is desirable

Location and Transport - Croydon, South London
* Accessible via East Croydon and West Croydon stations (Southern, Thameslink, Overground, Tramlink)
* Local bus routes include: 50, 60, 109, 198, 250, 289
