The Role

We are looking for a motivated English Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4. In this temporary role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons, monitoring student progress, and contributing to the wider school community. This role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver English lessons tailored to a range of student abilities


  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and targeted support


  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum


  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and mutual respect


  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and guardians to support student success and wellbeing


    Minimum Requirements

    To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

    • Experience:

      • At least 1–2 years of experience teaching English in a secondary school



      • Qualifications:

        • A degree in English or a related subject and UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)



        • Training:

          • Experience in classroom management, differentiation, and safeguarding practices



          • Skills:

            • Strong communication, organisation, and the ability to inspire and motivate learners



              Background Checks

              All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to starting, unless already registered on the update service. The cost of a DBS may be passed to the applicant.
