Part Time Variable Hours Tutor of GCSE/A Level EnglishHours: part-time variable Hourly rate: £25.25 (unqualified)* or £26.38 (qualified)* inclusive of holiday pay.Plus, membership of Teachers’ Pension Scheme*the base hourly rate is £16.29 (unqualified) / £17.02 (qualified) per hour, plus payment for holiday and preparation and marking time, which gives an approximate hourly rate of £25.25 (unqualified) / £26.38 (qualified) per hour. About the roleYork College is seeking to appoint a Part Time Variable Hours GCSE English Language tutor to join the Foundation English team. The post would suit an appropriately qualified person with experience of delivering GCSE English Language.Ideally, you will also have experience of teaching A Level English Language, Literature or Language & Literature, though this is desirable rather than essential. You will be a dedicated and motivated professional with a passion for helping students progress. You will also contribute to the delivery strategies to improve the delivery and quality of English teaching and learning for our 16-19 cohort.About the personYou will be qualified up to at least Level 3 in English and a relevant degree qualification (or equivalent) would be desirable. In addition, you must possess a recognised Level 5/6 teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards achieving this.You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and innovative teacher with experience of delivering English, preferably in a FE context. The ideal candidate will have taught GCSE and/or A Level English to a wide range of students. Excellent administration and interpersonal skills together with a commitment to working effectively as part of a team are also essential in this role.
