Summary


The Senior Capital Programme Manager will be responsible for managing specific capital projects from inception to completion to cost and time.

They will provide high quality Project Management of building projects and project packages across new build, adaptation and refurbishment building projects. The projects range in value from £50,000 to £50m+. The day-to-day management of the project (including consultants, contractors and whole project budgets) and delivery of the project deliverables within agreed constraints.



To work closely with Clinical stakeholders during the establishment of Client Briefs and preparation of option appraisals, budget costings, outline programmes and feasibility studies.

Where external consultant teams include an external Project Manager (or Lead Consultant), manage the teams to ensure there is no duplication of responsibilities between internal and external management. Adopt the role of Intelligent Client and manage external teams, consultants and contractors, to ensure compliance with all necessary SGUH reporting requirements in a timely manner.

Advise on procurement routes and contract procedures for the commissioning of consultant services and construction activities. Assist the procurement team in the development of appropriate, compliant and robust tender documentation and lead on the evaluation of tender submissions.

Plan, monitor and control all aspects of a project to ensure that the most cost effective, timely and appropriate solutions are developed to fulfil the Trust’s strategic goals.





Based in the Estate & Facilities division, the Capital Projects Team is a small, friendly team based in the Blackshaw Annexe of St George's Hospital. The team is led by the Assistant Director Capital Projects and the Head of Capital Projects manages the team on a daily basis. The team consists of a mix of substantive staff and a couple of contractors.
