Summary
COOK JOB DESCRIPTION
1.To assist in the planning of interesting menus providing a balanced nutritious diet appropriate to the age group of the residents, making the best use of fresh produce where available.
2.To prepare, cook and serve meals as appropriate
3.To provide special diets where necessary ,as well as taking into consideration the preferences of individual residents
4.To be responsible for the cleaning and washing up after meals and the overall cleaning of the kitchen
5.To maintain cleaning schedules and tasks and to record and report accurately where appropriate any given documentation on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
6.To maintain a record of food supplies and list requirements where requested.
7.Ensure stock rotation of dry goods
8.To maintain statutory health and safety standards in the kitchen
9.To wear appropriate PPE as required
10.To have full knowledge of the homes fire procedures
11.To supervise and train junior kitchen staff
12.To attend staff meetings and training sessions as and when required
