PAY IS DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE.
Job summary: We are seeking to recruit 3 experienced medical receptionists to join our busy and friendly GP practice. As a medical receptionist, you are the first point of contact at our practice, either at the front reception desk, by telephone, or by email.
About us: At Sorrel Bank Medical Practice, we provide services for approximately 8,600 registered patients. We are a progressive training Practice for Medical Students, FY2’s, ST1,2,3, Nurses, Paramedics, and Pharmacists; we strive to boost and encourage all our staff and trainees to achieve their best potential. Delivering quality care to our patients is the key focus of our surgery; however, our business strives to ensure all our staff have a positive experience while at work.
Responsibilities and daily tasks:
Working on the reception desk
Answering telephone calls
Email correspondence
Processing prescription requests
Processing clinical documents
Communicating with patients and colleagues via a range of electronic systems.
Completing any additional administrative duties asked of you by the management team.
Working closely with both clinical and non-clinical staff
Knowledge of working with EMIS Web, Docman, Citrix, AccuRx, Microsoft Teams, and NHS email (training will be provided).
You will be required to work between the core hours of 08:00 and 18:30 Monday-Friday over 4 or 5 days. If you cannot work these hours, unfortunately you will not be considered for the role. Staff have set working shifts, but these change as and when needed to accommodate staff annual leave and sickness. Therefore, the right applicant must be fully flexible.
Package:
Competitive salary dependant on experience
Holiday leave entitlement starting at 27 days increasing with years or service, plus bank holidays
Sick pay after qualifying period

Essential:
GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
Experience as a Medical Receptionist/ Administrator
Disclosure and Barring Service Check (provided)
Desirable:
Telephonist experience in a healthcareor call centre setting
