About the role of Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a leading provider of specialist diamond drilling and concrete cutting solutions across the UK construction industry. Established with a strong focus on safety, precision and reliability they've built a reputation for delivering high quality work on time, every time. We are seeking a skilled and detailed oriented Quantity Surveyor on a 3 month, 3 day per week temporary contract to cover for the current Surveyor who is off due to Ill health. You will be required to manage all commercial aspects of our clients' operations from initial cost estimates through to final accounts. The role will focus heavily on invoicing, applications for payment and maintaining clear communications with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and support the tendering process
- Issue clear, detailed and timely invoices
- Monitor project budgets and control costs
- Prepare and agree final accounts
- Assess and value variations and subcontractor accounts
- Liaise with project managers and clients to ensure financial efficiency and contract compliance
This role is critical to maintaining the company's cash flow and client relationship during the cover period. You'll be supported by the operations team and have access to existing templates, records and software systems. Whilst initially head office based in Dartford, the role can quickly progress to fully remote working if preferable with flexible workday options.
