Summary
We are looking to recruit substantive or locum consultant to our Community Paediatric team in Newham (up to 10PA) . The post will include the role as Named Dr for Children in Care (Looked after Children). This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team of Community Paediatricians within a forward-thinking multidisciplinary service dedicated to improving the quality of lives of babies, children, young people and families who live in in East London
The postholders will be expected to work within the multidisciplinary team to provide a comprehensive community paediatric service within Specialist Children & Young People’s Services and will include responsibilities in the following areas:
(i) Clinical activities: a. Consultant clinics including Children in care clinics and dvelopmental clinics and related administrative work b. Clinical triage of referrals c. Clinical supervision as Consultant of the Day, including senior suport for child protection medicals. d. MDT clinical discussions or and patient related meetings
(ii) Teaching: a. To contribute to departmental teaching b. To contribute to teaching of medical students particularly in relation to community child health services
(iii) Management and leadership: a. Clinical Supervision b. Clinical governance c. Management supervision , inclusing supervision of the medical advisor for adoption d. Pathway leadership
(iv) Audit, Quality Improvement and Service Development
