Summary

Join the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) as a Rehabilitationist and make a meaningful impact in the lives of cochlear implant and auditory implant users. You will have a unique opportunity to further your career by using your clinical skills within a University setting allowing you to access up-to-date research in this field.

We have 2 full-time permanent vacant posts but part-time working will be considered. Full time hours are considered to be 35 hours per week.

As a Rehabilitationist, you will play a vital role in helping patients adapt to and optimise their auditory implants. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll provide specialist rehabilitation, guiding patients through their hearing journey.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering tailored rehabilitation programmes for cochlear and bone conduction implant recipients
Assessing patient progress and adjusting therapy strategies accordingly
Providing education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
Collaborating with audiologists, rehabilitationists, and other professionals to enhance outcomes
Contributing to research and teaching opportunities within the university setting
What We’re Looking For

Experience in rehabilitation for individuals with auditory implants or hearing loss (training will also be provided)
HCPC or RCSLT or equivalent professional registration
Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
