Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
The pupils, staff and governors of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced learning support assistant to work with a pupil with SEND in Year 6. We are looking for caring, flexible and conscientious person who display a total commitment to the principles of inclusion. The role involves regular intimate personal care and working with challenging behaviour. This is a temporary role until a specialist school placement is found within the year.
We are looking for people who have:
Excellent English and maths skills
A good understanding of inclusion and supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
Patience, resilience and a positive outlook
Good organisation and communication skills enabling them to work effectively as part of a team
The ability to work with a range of children across the school as and when directed to do so by SLT
The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changes
The ability to engage with parents and develop positive relationships with pupils and staff
A commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos (you do not need to be Catholic yourself)
